Bruce Cattanach introduced the bobtail gene into some Boxers by crossbreeding. The Boxer is one of the top ten most popular breeds in the United States. In the late 1800’s, through crossbreeding with English Bulldogs, the Bullenbeiser faded away and was transformed into today’s boxer.
